President's Message
I have the distinct privilege of leading an organization that is made up of some of the best firefighters in the business.
Our members are skilled, dedicated, and committed to delivering service at the highest level. We are here to serve and protect our community every day of the year, and we take incredible pride in helping our community.
IAFF Local 900 exists to support our firefighters that are willing to risk their lives for the safety of others. As a member of the International Association of Firefighters for over 75 years, and as one of the founding members of the Colorado Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 900 has a strong tradition of supporting our firefighters. We are fortunate to have had generations of firefighters before us, that were willing to unite in an effort to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our firefighters, and their families.
As we continue to face new challenges in our work, along with a rapidly growing list of health hazards, it is just as important today that we continue our fight to ensure our members, and their families, are treated fairly. Our success depends on the support and trust of our community. It depends on access to the best equipment and training available. It depends on staffing levels that are appropriate for the work we do. And it depends on developing a relationship of mutual respect with our department and city leadership, that allows for input on decisions that impact us.
